Kim K. Orberg has owned and run Z Cars of Ocala at 3700 N US Hwy 441 for over forty years. The shop is a Florida state licensed dealer as well as a repair shop, and its own roadside sign says exactly what it does: service and sales of fine imports.

Forty-four years at the same address
Kim opened the shop on US Highway 441 in 1982 and has run it himself ever since. There was no sale, no second owner, no move down the road. The cars behind the office in this photo are proof of the other half of the business: a locally owned, state licensed dealer that sells cars right off its own lot, not just a garage that fixes them.
That licensing matters for the consignment side of the business too. When a customer wants to sell a car instead of trading it in, Z Cars lists it and sells it from the lot for a commission, which only a licensed dealer can do legally in Florida.
Why it is called Z Cars
Named for the car, run by a man who owns one
Google reviewer Karl Schmitz put it plainly after his own car came out of the shop: “Kim knows his stuff. Owns the same year and Z model. I’m pleased with the repairs that were completed.” The Datsun and Nissan Z line is the reason the sign reads Z Cars, and Kim still drives one himself.

Seventeen marques come through the door regularly: Acura, Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, KIA, Land Rover, Lexus, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Porsche, Scion, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. Domestic cars are serviced too, along with classic, four wheel drive, high performance and electric cars.
Repairs are guaranteed, and there is a two year warranty on parts. If a car cannot be driven in, call or text (352) 229-2654 and a tow truck will bring it to the shop, day or night, with the tow charged on the repair invoice instead of paid at the roadside. Se habla espanol.
